I'm going with Wisconsin in this one they have played a much more challenging schedule here and it will show on their home turf on Sunday. For an easy way of looking at his match up for those of you who don't like to read my full report I'll say this. Both of these teams played @ Minnesota. Wisconsin dominated that game, but only won by 3 late because of miscues while Purdue lost 20-35. Purdue is 0-3 on the road this year actually. Another similar game is Purdue vs. Northern Illinois at home where they were out gained by 119 yards, and lost 21-28. Wisconsin had the same match up and won 28-20 and outgained them by 159 yards. Wisconsin by the way is 3-0 at home.
Purdue is still getting a lot of credit for the Ohio State victory that does not impress me as much as they are giving them credit for. Particularly because the offense of Ohio State is not there and it's not close to what Wisconsin can do even though Wisconsin was beat when they visited Ohio State. Also that game was at home against Ohio State. The Badgers need this game to get a bowl game and it will show. So why will Wisconsin win this game, well for one only one team has turned the ball over more times than Purdue and that's Miami University. Mistakes come in bunches and Wisconsin's D is very timely when it comes to these.
I also look for Scott Tolzien to return to his level of play from earlier this year where hwas playing at an All Big 10 level. In his last two games he has thrown 5 interceptions and 0 TD's. Guess what he only faced the 17th and 29th ranked pass defense very solid and he struggled of course. Purdue boasts the 47th ranked pass defense and hardly a threat as they have only faced a 69th ranked pass offense. Wisconsin will be able to run the ball as they are ranked 28th and Purdue ranked 81st in rush defense. Look for Purdue to try to come in the box not being scared of Tolzien but he'll make the plays when he needs to keep the ball moving including some 3rd in long. I think Wisconsin wins by double digits in this game. They are also coming off a bye week and off two straight losses. Look for Wisconsin to come out hungry in this one against a team getting more credit than they deserve off one big win. Wisconsin won't stand for it on Saturday. The well balanced offense of Wisconsin will move the ball all day long!
